Installation Checker

During the install process and at any time after that the Promenta Install Check report can be executed. Transaction code is /PROMENTA/INSTALL

Background

The install checker transaction will run various checks as configured by Promenta to check the overall status of your installation. It tracks the installation steps as per the installation guide.

It will check:

• SAP required SICF services active
• Promenta SICF services active
• Promenta number range objects configured
• Base role assignment
• Product key
• Clean-up job

It will also (optionally) check your RFC destinations and transport import history

Administrator access is normally required

Quick Start

1] Execute the transaction code /PROMENTA/INSTALL

2] The initial screen is shown as below

3] Complete the selection screen 

Execute with no additional settings to perform basic checks

If you wish to run the optional checks (RFC and transport) then select the appropriate checkbox. 

RFC check – change the default RFC destination if you do not use it. You can check up to 2 RFC destinations

The section “Promenta Use Only” (not shown) should not be changed

4] Execute the report

The report will show green lights for all items that are ok. Red for errors and yellow where manual checks may be needed.

In the example below

• RFC checks were selected
• Transport checks were selected
• The user has selected the Number Range check and double-clicked to show the detail of the check

Check Detail

Each check has a detail page. Access the detail page by double-clicking the check node

A check will have general information in the header and detail below

Some checks allow you to jump to the appropriate transaction to check/fix issues
